A refrigerator running in cold ambient environment
Some weeks ago our refrigerator (compressor model) stopped working. I am quite sure, that it is still fine (only 4 years old), but the room-temperature in our holiday house dropped down to about 5°C.. During the time nobody is there, the central heating starts working at a temperature of 5°C (to save energy costs). Searching the internet I got to your very informative page. At another page I read, that common refrigerators work fine above 16°C, reduced performance at between 16°C and 6°C, and stop working below.
Until now I have not been able to find a guide how to convert a common refrigerator to one which will work at temperatures around 5°C. Can this be done?
