My door swings open too wide and crashes

My refrigerator door used to stop 3/4 of the way open. I moved it out to clean behind it and when I pushed it back in place, the door now swings freely all the way open and crashes into the counter behind it. Can you tell me how to get the door to stop opening so fully. Thanks.

It must be that either the refrigerator is not sitting in the same place as before or that when you pulled it out the front legs turned out so the front is higher now. There would be no other reason that I could think of for this to happen except …..

Some models have a stop on the bottom of the door preventing it from opening too far. If the screws are loose on this part sometimes the stop doesn’t contact where it should.
