Where does the seal go?

I had to remove the seal on my 26' whirlpool refrigerator upright dual door, freezer side.( with indoor in ice, and water). It came off easy, don't you know.

But replacing it has become a headache. Does the seal go behind the plastic cover or between the trim bracket and plastic cover. Any help would be appreciated.

It goes between the trim and the plastic cover (called the liner).
