Can a Freon leak cause a fire?

Can a Freon leak in a freezer result in an electrical fire? Thank you.

No not at all. Freon is not flammable.
There is a danger if the compressor is left running for a long period of time with little or no refrigerant and air in the system though. In this case it could overheat. Unless it has been tampered with, it should have a thermal overload under the terminal cover in contact with the case that will
disconnect the power to the windings in this situation.
