Will it work with a leak in it?

WHILE CHIPPING AWAY AT THE ICE IN MY OLD FREEZER, I HAD A SUDDEN 'GAS' LEAK, DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE FREEZER AND / OR FRIDGE COMPARTMENT WILL NO LONGER WORK ??? MANY THANX

Yes, sorry but the system won't work with any size hole in it, even a pinhole. Depending on where you live you might be able to get it repaired for a reasonable cost. Whatever you do .... don't turn it on in this situation or you will suck air and moisture into the system and cause further damage.
