Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:
Cubes won’t dump
I am having problems with my ice maker, and I suspect the tray is sticking and not dumping properly. It is getting water to the tray, and freezing the cubes, but no cubes are dumping from the tray. What do you suspect may be causing this, and what is the best method of repair? Also, what are a few things I can check to make sure this is the cause?
You forgot to mention what kind of refrigerator or ice maker you have.
When you look at the ice maker is it the head or the ice tray that is toward the front?
It’s a nylon tray that faces toward the front
On these designs of ice makers you can simply get a new tray which cures all such ice sticking problems. When these trays wear out they tend not to dump as the surface becomes rough. There is a small clip front and centre of the unit, remove it and the tray pulls right off. Take it with you to
any major appliance parts supplier to get a new one.
