Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:

New head installed still no ice

We have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator that is 4 to 5 years old and the ice maker does not work. We do get cold water from our refrigerator. I thought the ice maker was bad so I purchased a new one. After installing the new one, we still get no ice. There is a whirring sound as though it is running, but no ice. Thank you for your help

Sounds like either the solenoid is gone or there is an ice plug where the water enters the cabinet. You can put two female side terminals on a cord end and hook the solenoid up to line current to test which one it is. Disconnect the solenoid where it delivers upward. If it lets water through when energized the line is iced, if not, the solenoid is burn out.
