Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:
Took it apart, put back together now it works
Last night I went ahead and tested the valve solenoid and it worked ok. So being the curios person that I am I wanted to figure out exactly how this thing worked. I tore the head apart and put it back together. (At least now I know how they work.) Anyway doing so I tested the micro switches (they were ok). I couldn’t figure out why I didn't work unless the thermostat in it was bad. I put back together and installed it back in the freezer. This morning I woke up to about 3 or 4 batches of nice size ice cubes. What I did to make it work? I don't know. Maybe a bad connection?
Alright, well glad it's working again. Yea this happens often, sometimes you take something apart put it back together again and it works. I don't like it when that happens though because it usually signifies an intermittent problem. These are the toughest to solve. It's always nice when you get into something and go AHA! Now you know it has something to do with the head though.
In central Canada here new heads are usually about $138.00 or so.
