Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:
Water leaks into the ice bin
I have a 3 year old refrigerator and the icemaker that came with it drips water into the ice bin when it fills. I tried turning up and down the adjustment for cube size and it still does it. Is there a way to adjust the amount of water that enters the icemaker?
So if you have in fact observed this as it is filling and it drips just when it fills, the spout may have a bit of ice building up in it or it could be out of place. Take the head out and check this out.
You didn't mention what kind of refrigerator you have so I can't be of too much help.
If you don’t know specifically when this happens, I've seen this happen many times with the ice maker design on which the cube tray flips over and twists. If yours is like this all you need to do is replace the tray itself. It seems they get rough after use and if even one cube gets left behind the thing will overflow.
If you have the comb type, perhaps one of the teeth is broken off which is often the cause for this situation on this design. The comb itself can be replaced if you’re good at working on clock like devices.
