Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:

Fridge dries everything out

I have an older frig -- 20 (?) years old -- It keeps things cold, but it seems to suck all the moisture out of all the food in the frig-- for example Vegetables like carrots and celery will look wilted and dehydrated within 2 days of being in the frig -- it seems to be getting worse -- should I buy a new frig or is this problem fixable?

I hope you’re storing your carrots and celery in containers or bags? Just in the loose you can develop major odor problems because of the starch they release.

This is a strange and unusual complaint which should be repairable but may be hard to spot. I had a unit with this problem a few years back and it turned out that the defrost thermostat was stuck closed. The problem should be repairable as long as you find a competent technician that has good knowledge of your particular design.
