Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:

Recommendation of what new type to buy

I have an old (over 15 years, I think) GE fridge. It seems to run a lot, and I'm thinking it's getting worn out. The seals around the doors also seem soft, and you can slip a paper between them.

I'm thinking I ought to buy a new fridge. Live alone, but like having freezer space. If I buy, what is your take on the best make, model, etc.? Don't need an ice maker or anything fancy. Would appreciate your reply. Very educational site.

Hi, all designs of new refrigerators in North America have been revised in the last 2 to 3 years due to stricter energy consumption standards placed on the manufacturers. I don't do much warranty work at my shop so I really can't say. Perhaps you could try looking it up in a publication such as Consumers Reports if it exists in your country.
