Refrigerator runs constantly, can I repair this myself?

In this case it could be a system problem, fan, or an automatic defrost problem if none of your food items are freezing where they shouldn't. Here’s the distinction, if food items are freezing, your control is insensitive.

The fan in the freezer should run whenever the compressor runs, if not you may have a worn fan motor. Otherwise…

To confirm an automatic defrost problem you could leave it unplugged for 24hrs with the door open, then if it works okay for a week or so our suspicions are confirmed. If it doesn’t work after you do the shut down you may have a system problem for which you may have to call in a technician for.
