Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:
Leaks no matter what temperature is set
I have a 15 year old Hotpoint refrigerator. No matter what temperature I set, water forms in the bottom. How can I stop this water from forming, and where does it come from, in the first place? Thank you,
Sounds like you have a clogged drain fitting or tube. You refrigerator goes through an automatic defrost cycle every 6 hrs or so. The water that results should go to a tray on or near the compressor to evaporate during the run cycle. If the fittings are clogged the water ends up under the crispers. Temperature setting has nothing to do with this cycle.
