Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:

More and more water in the drain pan

Dear sir, my fridge has started to accumulate a lot of water in the drain pan for about three months. It seems to be getting worse. I dump out about 8 ounces twice a week. Prior to this there seldom was any water in the drain pan. It is a frost free fridge about 15 years old. I can’t manage to repair anything myself but am wondering what I should do. Thanks

Sounds like the door may leak air and moisture (that ends up in your tray) into the cabinet causing this situation. Do the doors seal?

If they are alright then just leave the water in the drain pan, it should evaporate back into the air of your kitchen and you shouldn’t have to empty it. If you’re getting water on the floor by leaving the drain pan alone get a service call on this.
