Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:

Unit runs constantly because of ice in freezer compartment?

Do "frost free" refrigerators ever need defrosting? Ours has a nice build up of ice in the freezer section. I thought it might be a thermostat problem because the machine was just running and running, Food stays cold, maybe there is nothing wrong with it at all? Thanks for any advice,

Sounds like yours has a plugged drain for the water that results from the defrost cycle to exit the cabinet. The water builds up as ice and the ice blocks air circulation. This problem could be solved by simply cleaning out a plugged drain fitting or on some designs it means a heater may be burnt out.
