Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:

Use of compressed air to clear out lines?

I have a GE profiler refrigerator. It is approx. 5 yrs. old. Water leaks out onto the front of the floor. I believe the drain tube is clogged. Someone suggested that I use the compressed air in a can to try to unclog it. It is not possible to get a tight fit onto the tube to get the air to work. Could you tell me how to unclog the tube? thanks.

This GE may have a clogged drain right under the crisper drawer, check that first. If no drain is there then it's likely the fitting under the condenser at the back. Sometimes these have a loop in a formed plastic piece that you have to remove via two screws. If so remove it and flush it out. You
shouldn't need to use any such thing as compressed air for this job. If the fitting is underneath the condenser you can swing it out for access underneath from the side that doesn't have the lines going up on it. I believe this would be the left, facing the back. Good luck with it and hope this helps.
