Going away for 2 months, leave it running?
I will be going away for a few months and would like to know if it is better to leave the refrigerator on a low setting or should I totally disconnect the refrigerator. I have a GE side by side which is 6 years old.
If the duration is a couple of months it's best to shut it down. Make sure it's thoroughly cleaned and washed down, and you must make sure both doors are left ajar at least an inch.
If it doesn’t start up right away when you turn it back on, leave it for 20 minutes until it cuts in.
