Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:
Will Freon leak out if moved on side?
I've been told that you shouldn't move refrigerators except in the upright position. The reason being that the refrigerator will leak or lose Freon is transported on its side. True or false? Thanks.
False, but other things can go wrong, namely oil fills the piston, then on start up the filter saturates.
If you absolutely have to lay it down, do it on the side with the largest line (suction line) facing downward, then let it sit at room temp upright for at least 8 hrs before plugging it back in.
