Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:

Blows hot air around in the freezer

I have a sears cold spot refrigerator freezer. A 65741 series. It will not get cold. It actually blows out hot air. What could be the problem? How can I check it? Thanks

Sounds like your compressor is cutting out (due to overheating?) or failing to start. So the fan in the freezer runs but the compressor doesn't. Clean the condenser coils if blocked. Check to see if the condenser cooling fan, if yours has one, is running when the compressor has power, or failing these first two, the compressor on this design has a capacitor in the start circuit which is likely the culprit.
