Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:

Fridge section cool, freezer section not freezing

My problem has to do with temperature. The freezer part of the fridge is not producing any cold air. However, air is still blowing behind the area where the control knob is located in the freezer compartment. I have tried changing the temperature control in the freezer to the coldest reading and setting the temperature control knob in the fridge to a less colder setting but doing that will not help. The air coming into the freezer is still cool, at best. Refrigerator is approximately 10 yrs. old. The temperature in the main part of the fridge is 40 degree F. I have a thermostat in the fridge. Can you give me any advice?

From what you describe it sounds like a system problem. You didn't mention what type of refrigerator you have but anyway, expose your freezer coils, there should be access under a cover somewhere in the freezer compartment. If some or all of the lines don't have frost on them then it's a system problem that you won't be able to repair yourself. Hope this helps.
