Frequently Asked Questions About Domestic Refrigerator Repair:
No frost build up, runs constantly
I own a GE TBX24ZKC fridge. I noticed it's motor is constantly running. The door seals are satisfactory. No frost build-up that I can see. Stored food items are relatively cool. What irregularities may cause a fridge motor to constantly run, even when the door(s) are seldom opened, or during cool weather. This happens even when the bottom coils are kept clean. I'd be grateful your advice. Sincerely,
If you have a fan in the freezer section on your design it could be stopped, or if the fan still runs chances are you have an automatic defrost malfunction. Even though you don't see any frost, it may be building up behind the coil cover and causing problems for you and preventing air circulation.
To confirm this you could let the refrigerator thaw completely, (unplugged for 24hrs at room temp with the doors open). If this is in fact what it is, the unit will work normally for several days then symptoms will return.
If not you could be looking at a system problem or weak compressor.
