Can a domestic freezer be used for a scientific application?

I'm looking for the best freezers that money can buy!!! Specifically I am interested in freezer products for a LT project for long term stable spore storage (aprox -38DegC). Can you help?

Sorry but I can't help you with this one. -38 is below the design specs for domestic deep freezers. The insulation between the evaporator and condenser (between the walls) is just not thick enough and the two tend to cancel each other out below a certain temp. probably –5 F maximum. You will probably have to look at either commercial or scientific equipment for your application. Try Cole-Parmer.
