Newer Maytag problem

Hi, our 4 year old 25 cubic ft. Maytag fridge/freezer has been warming up
in temp and adjusting the dials to the colder settings has not helped. We
emptied it and unplugged it for 24 hrs to allow ice to melt around the
freezer compartment. After plugging in again it has returned to the "warm"
condition from before. The drainage tube seems to be clear and all fans are
running. Thanks for any help you can provide.

These Maytags are sure tuning out to be troublesome. So if you unplugged it
overnight with the freezer door open I would think if it was an automatic
defrost problem it would have temporarily cleared. To find out for sure you
may have to remove the coil cover. If it isn't a defrost problem though it's
likely something with the hermetic system which should still be under
warrantee.

Your input is extremely helpful!

Hundreds of people visit these pages daily looking for information about household refrigeration equipment. Dissatisfied with a particular model or company? Solved a particular problem? Let us know. Even the smallest detail can help so many people.

For example, let us know that your particular refrigerator model had a burnt out freezer fan motor one month after the warrantee expired, then everyone knows that a fan failure on that model is a distinct possibility.
