Quietest refrigerator

Can you tell me what the quietest fridge one can buy besides propane ( to
expensive) :)

Sorry but this is something I wouldn't know. You could take two identical
models made the same day and one might be noisier than the other one.
Generally speaking though manual defrost or all fridge designs have smaller
compressors in them and use up to $70 dollars less electricity per year
also. By far the quietest refrigerators were the manual defrost designs out
of the 50's though, compressors ran at 400 RPM rather than 1760 as they do
now.

Your input is extremely helpful!

Hundreds of people visit these pages daily looking for information about household refrigeration equipment. Dissatisfied with a particular model or company? Solved a particular problem? Let us know. Even the smallest detail can help so many people.

For example, let us know that your particular refrigerator model had a burnt out freezer fan motor one month after the warrantee expired, then everyone knows that a fan failure on that model is a distinct possibility.
