Dispenses water but no ice

I have a 4 year old Kenmore side-by-side with ice and water in the door.
It has always worked just fine, but recently, the ice maker stopped working.
It's not getting water. The water dispenser still works fine. What does
this mean?

Try switching the plugs into the duel solenoid at
back where the water line attaches to the refrigerator. Now when you
dispense, does water come into the tray now?

If it does, you need a new solenoid, if it doesn't perhaps the passage to
the ice tray is blocked by ice,(you could check this also by reversing the
fittings at the top of the solenoid) or failing that the ice maker head is
worn out.

Your input is extremely helpful!

Hundreds of people visit these pages daily looking for information about household refrigeration equipment. Dissatisfied with a particular model or company? Solved a particular problem? Let us know. Even the smallest detail can help so many people.

For example, let us know that your particular refrigerator model had a burnt out freezer fan motor one month after the warrantee expired, then everyone knows that a fan failure on that model is a distinct possibility.
