About freezer burn

How do you describe an article having frost bite in the freezer section of
the refrigerator? How is it bad for human consumption?

Items freezer burnt are not really bad for consumption or toxic, they are
just unpleasant to consume. Freezer burn dries out the outer surface, where
you will notice discoloration, and alters the taste of the item in an
unpleasant way. It's also easy to prevent by placing foods in air tight
packages.
