In our refrigerator, when its on 5 everything in both compartments, fridge & freezer freeze solid. When lowered to 4 refrigerator shuts down and everything in freezer defrosts could it be the timing box?
Sounds to me like the control itself is the culprit. Cold controls can wear out in many different ways, in your case the mechanism inside the part may have slipped out of place. You just need a new one. Hope this helps.
